MISCELLANEOUS

Franklin Lakes Medical Center, Franklin Lakes, NJ

A complete renovation of an unusable old building into a state-of-the-art medical center. All the interior walls were masonry walls, so we shored the entire structure, took down the masonry walls and put in all new structural steel beams to allow the new offices to use the entire area without being restricted by masonry wall partitions. We replaced all the deteriorated, rotten decking and rotting roof, and installed a hundred new windows around the perimeter of the building.

Valley Regional Medical Center, Mahwah, NJ

Valley Regional Medical Center was a new 40,000-square-foot medical facility complete with the construction of 16 custom medical office suites, all with different colors, doors and finishes — a real challenge when working with so many doctors and office managers.

Eastern Christian School Association, Wyckoff, NJ, Repeat Customer

Eastern Christian is a school system that has seen three Visbeen generations. Our grandfather built the original high school in North Haledon, our father has done miscellaneous renovations throughout the three campuses, and we continue to work routinely for all three. As third generation we have put an addition and renovation at the elementary school in Midland Park, a major addition and renovation at the middle school in Wyckoff, and renovations of the high school in North Haledon.

Glen Ridge Country Club, Glen Ridge, NJ, $837,000

Construction of a new maintenance facility. The project involved two new pre-engineered structures that were outfitted with stone veneer, wood siding, copulas, and arched overhead garage doors to give it the look of an old-style carriage house, perfectly blending with the club’s surroundings.

35 Plaza Shopping Center, Paramus, NJ, $2,500,000

An addition and complete overhaul renovation of a very old retail complex. It was one of the first retail centers to create the look of individual buildings side by side using different materials, canopies, colors, styles, etc.

Ashley Furniture Homestore, Repeat Customer

The construction of two new stores and the renovation of the original store. The new store in Secaucus was a complete fit-out of an empty warehouse and constructed in 12 weeks, inside and out — an amazing transformation.

Korean Community Center, Tenafly, NJ, $3,365,000

An extremely fast project, the Korean Community Center is a new three-story building that was constructed in 10 months from start to finish — actually two months earlier than the client requested. The face of the building features a man-made stone that looks like limestone in a split-face block. The interior is made up of rooms for teaching — with a dance studio, art studio, teaching kitchen and individual classrooms. Parking is underneath the building.

Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Home Furnishings, Paramus, NJ, $930,000

A very aggressive schedule with an incentive to complete it early. We hit a home run with this one, completing the job in 12 weeks in 2012. No one believed we could do it that fast. While we were doing the interior renovation the landlord was renovating the exterior façade, so the project was a bit tricky and challenging, as was the inclement weather and flooding we encountered.
