The initial startup of the PACU was unique because the new building addition had a full basement right up against another existing structure. We had to stabilize the bottom 20 feet of vertical face under the building with Soil Nailing in order to build the basement right up against the existing structure.

 

The PACU project had distinct finishes. The exterior phenolic panels were imported from Germany and the windows were fabricated in Germany. The building is also unique in the way it is put together, with numerous glass walls, wood trusses and metal roofs. The result is a new, state-of-the-art physical therapy gymnasium –the showpiece of the entire complex.

 

In conjunction with the PACU project, the Heritage Manor West Lounge was a major phasing and extensive renovation that took place within a fully operational complex. The project included stone veneer, heavy timber trusses, fireplace, copper skylight, shower rooms and more. Both projects took 14-15 months with the phasing.

 

The Great Room was an addition featuring heavy timber wood trusses, Pella windows and stone veneer. Cost $1,756,330.

 

The Staff Dining Room was built inside a courtyard. All materials and equipment had to be walked through the main facility corridor, and/or craned over the existing structure. The interior ceiling is a beautiful arrangement of wood trusses and post-and-beam fabricated in Vermont.
