BOLGER COMMUNITY CENTER

Bolger Community Center
Midland Park, NJ
$1,877,000

Renovation of a 200-year-old barn in eight months. The basic structure stayed in place with the old post and beams, and was completely renovated and added onto with a state-of-the-art new Midland Park Ambulance Corps building and Community Center. We received the LEED* Gold certification rating, the highest mark of quality and achievement in Green building, for using all of the LEED materials, processes and installations. This building also features geothermal heating and cooling. We reused the old barn siding for the interior trim and some of the support columns inside, recycled concrete countertop in the kitchen, and many other recycled materials throughout. An interesting find was that the original nails were all handmade by a blacksmith — a testament to the barn’s age.
